County Court at Law #4
Dimple Malhotra was named by Travis County commissioners to replace County Court-at-Law Judge Mike Denton, who resigned to run for Travis County attorney. She was assistant district attorney and chief prosecutor for the family violence unit in the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, a position she had held since 2017. Prior to that, she worked in the county attorney’s office for 10 years as an assistant and chief of the Protective Orders Division. She also prosecuted cases in the County Court at Law #4.
She has worked in several roles assisting victims of domestic violence, including as an attorney for the Texas Advocacy Project in Austin and Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse in California. She also worked as a legal advocate for the Support Network for Battered Women, also in California.She has a Bachelor of Arts in government and sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and law degree from the UT School of Law.
